Rhythms & Brews showcases will be staged each Wednesday starting September 6, 2023 through May 8, 2024 and we’re pleased to bring you these Listening Room Experiences each and every week. It’s a chance to warm up your fall and winter a bit with songs from Mile of Music alumni and others who are traveling from all corners or from just around the corner.

This season is sponsored by NorthRock Partners & Pepsi!

Announcements and music begin at 7 p.m. each week, with the show typically ending between 8:45-9 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring food in from out downtown restaurants to enjoy before or during the show. The doors open to the public at 6 p.m.

Akosuen /aa-KŌZ-eh-win/ is a music and performance project by Billie Howard involving sounds that focus on breathing cycles, chronic pain, and mediation on both quiet and extremely loud sounds. Billie appears on her primary instruments: violin and piano, as well as with an ensemble including expanded strings, voices, organ, and percussion.

Wielding an electric violin, looper, and some effects pedals, Raquel records herself improvising and composing music regularly. She creates lush soundscapes, ambient drones, and experimental string music in her home studio. She enjoys making different kinds of audio art that pairs well with poetry and various sound textures.

The married duo of Natural Satellite blends the genres of jazz and 90s indie rock into a comforting and spacious sound home where saxophone flows effortlessly around finger-style cello.
